LABOR DAY - TRASH DELAY

Due to Labor Day on Monday, September 4, 2017, the collection of residential trash, recycling & yard waste will be delayed by one (1) day.

New Police Chief Search Public Forum

City Manager, Todd J. Campbell announced that the City will host a public forum to solicit community feedback regarding the search for a new police chief. Mr. Campbell stated, “It is extremely important for the right candidate to be chosen as the new Saline police chief. Not only is it essential that the successful candidate be a highly skilled and qualified law enforcement official, but it is also critical that they are the best fit for Saline.”

Oakwood Cemetery Fall Cleanup

The annual fall cleanup of Oakwood Cemetery has been tentatively scheduled to begin Monday, September 25th, weather permitting. 

During this time, any item determined by the City to be in poor condition will be discarded.  As a precaution, please remove items for safekeeping by Sunday, September 24th.

Mill Pond Park - R.O.M.P. Structure Maintenance

The Mill Pond Park R.O.M.P. play structure will be closed for maintenance work beginning Tuesday, September 5, 2017. 

During this time, the structure will be cleaned, repaired, and re-sealed.  It is important to stay off the structure while the sealant is curing.

Florence Cement will be adjusting MH covers in the base course of pavement  on Monday August 21.  Final paving of Austin and Old Creek will occur later the in the week of August 21.

Yard Waste Collection Begins April 6th
 
Residential yard waste collection will begin on Thursday, April 6th and continue through the end of November. 
 
The following are standard regulations for yard waste collection.
 
Acceptable Items:
  • Grass Clippings
  • Leaves
  • Garden Debris
  • Shrubs
  • Fruit & Vegetable Waste
  • Branches:  Must be tied & bundled; less than 4-inches in diameter; less than 4-feet in length.

Wastewater Odor Complaints

There continues to be an increased odor emanating from the WWTP. Please know that resolving this issue is a top priority of the City Council and Staff; the comments and concerns of Saline residents are very important. As the City moves forward in attempting to mitigate the excessive odor at the WWTP, the City Council unanimously approved an agreement with a national engineering firm to conduct an odor study at the WWTP.
