ELECTIONS

The General Election is fast approaching.  Tuesday, November 6th voters will be voting for City of Saline Mayor and City of Saline Council Members (3).  Visit www.michigan.gov/vote to view the ballot in its entirety.

You can go on-line to www.michigan.gov/vote to find your voting information including if you are currently registered to vote and the location where you will vote.  Remember to bring photo identification with you to the polls and have it out and available as part of the check-in process.  Make sure you are in the correct polling location and precinct before getting in line. 

You must be registered 30 days prior to the election to be eligible to vote.  The lastday to register for the November General Election is Tuesday, October 9, 2018.   You may register at any Secretary of State office, Washtenaw County Clerk’s Office, or at Saline City Hall located at 100 N. Harris Street, Saline.  City Hall is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

POLLING PLACES ARE LOCATED AS FOLLOWS, and all are handicapped accessible and have

braille instructions available:

 

The Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6th.   Polling places for city residents are as follows:

                Precinct #1 & #2                  Liberty School (Gym), 7265 Saline-Ann Arbor Road

                Precinct #3                            First United Methodist Church, 1200 N. Ann Arbor, corner of Woodland

Campaign or Candidate information including buttons, stickers, apparel, literature, etc. are NOT permitted within 100 feet or inside the polling location.  You are also asked to refrain from using a cell phone within the polling place and by law, cell phone use is prohibited in the voting booth.

ABSENTEE BALLOT INFORMATION

Applications for Absentee Ballots were mailed the first week of September to all registered voters that requested to be on the City’s permanent absentee voter list.  If you haven’t received your application, or if you need an application for an absentee ballot, please contact the Clerk’s office.  

A written application is required for an absentee ballot.  You may apply in person at City Hall, by mail, or by fax.  Application forms are also available on the city’s website:  www.cityofsaline.org   

Absentee ballots for the General Election are now available in the Clerk’s office.  Saline City Hall will be open on Saturday, November 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the purpose of issuing absentee ballots or receiving voted absentee ballots.  If you know you will need an absentee ballot, please don’t delay in applying for your ballot.  November 3rd is the last day an absentee ballot can be taken out of the Clerk’s office for voting.  On Monday, November 5th an absentee ballot may be applied for and voted in the Clerk’s office up until 4:00 p.m. 

All absentee ballots must be received in the Clerk’s office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
