MDEQ Sampling Results

The City of Saline is extremely pleased to announce that the results from the recent MDEQ sampling of the City of Saline treated drinking water have been received and the results are below the level of detection.  The Lifetime Health Advisory for the chemicals PFOA and PFOS is 70 parts per trillion and the City’s water supply tested at the “ND – Not Detected” level for these compounds.  Additionally, the City’s drinking water tested at the “ND – Not Detected” level for the twelve similar additional compounds analyzed.  The results will be posted on the State of Michigan PFAS Response site soon.  The MDEQ is recommending that we annually perform one test for PFAS compounds in the future to ensure that these contaminants remain out of the City's drinking water supply.  Presently, with the City water being sourced from groundwater and no reasonable expectation for anthropogenic contribution of PFAS in the aquifer, we should expect future sampling to be in compliance with evolving health standards.  Please contact Water Treatment Plant Supt.
