The Work Meeting scheduled for August 16 has been resheduled for September 13. Below is a statement from City Manager O'Toole on the postponement of the work meeting.

Due to last week’s severe weather and sustained power outages, staff time and resources had to be redirected to response activities at the water and wastewater treatment plants. Both plants remained operational throughout the outage thanks to backup generator capacity, but the wastewater treatment plant specifically required some process related corrections and additional monitoring. As was previously reported, during the early morning hours of August 12, 2021 the wastewater treatment plant saw 4.3” of rainfall that resulted in an onsite sanitary sewer overflow event. That overflow was contained to the plant grounds and cleared the same day. The ad hoc committee will be reviewing the impacts of the storm to recommend additional plant related improvements or operational changes moving forward.

As a result, the meeting originally scheduled for August 16, 2021 at 6 p.m. has been postponed until September 13, 2021 at 6 p.m. In the interim, questions or concerns about water treatment plant or wastewater treatment plant operations can be directed to City Manager O’Toole at


Historic District Meeting

Wednesday, September 8, 2021 7 p.m.

The Saline City Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 7 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.

This notice is for the purpose of hearing all objections to, and support of amending Division 4 of Article IV "Historic District Ordinance" of Chapter 2 "Administration" of the City of Saline Code of Ordinances. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for public inspection at the office of the Saline City Clerk during regular working hours or you can download a copy here. Written comments on the above ordinance will be received at the office of the Saline City Clerk prior to the closing of said public hearing.
