Jeff Fordice ext. 2601
Jeff Fordice holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University, College of Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer. He worked for private consulting firms in Ann Arbor, East Lansing, and Detroit for eight years. As a consultant Mr. Fordice designed, specified, bid, and performed construction engineering for several environmental remediation systems and hazardous waste clean ups. He also worked on renovation and expansion of one of the world’s largest wastewater treatment plants and studies of combined sewer overflow reduction strategies.
Jeff joined the City in 2001 as the Assistant City Engineer. In 2010 he was promoted to Director of Public Works. In addition to his duties as Director, Jeff serves as the storm water program manager coordinating all aspects of compliance with Phase II Clean Water Act regulations, is the City’s energy manager in charge of implementing energy efficiency and renewable generation initiatives, facilitates development and implementation of the non-motorized transportation plan, investigates drainage problems, reviews site plans, manages the GIS, maintains the pavement/asset management system, applies for grants, manages design and construction of grant-funded projects, and is the staff liaison to the Historic District Commission.
