Larry Hrinik was appointed as the Chief of Police for the City of Saline on July 2, 2012.  He began his law enforcement career with the Buena Vista Township Police Department in March 1974.  He was appointed Chief of Police for Davison Township in September 1993, serving in that position until February 2012.

Chief Hrinik holds a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Saginaw Valley State College and a Master Degree in Organizational Leadership and Administration from Saginaw Valley State University.    He is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the 212th session of the FBI National Academy.

Chief Hrinik maintains Michigan licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician and Emergency Medical Technician Instructor Coordinator.

In addition, Chief Hrinik has taught for St. Mary’s Medical Center, Delta College, the Flint Regional Police Academy and Saginaw Valley State University.  He currently teaches for the University of Michigan – Flint.

Chief Hrinik is a Past President of the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and a life member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
