Building Inspector (Non-Exempt)

GENERAL SUMMARY

The City of Saline is accepting applications for a full-time Building Official/Inspector/Plan Reviewer to serve as the Building and Zoning Code Official enforcing the provisions of all applicable building and zoning codes and ordinances throughout the City of Saline. This position requires three or more years of relevant experience, and possession of Act 54 certifications as Building Inspector and Building Official. Under the supervision of the City Superintendent/Engineer, the Building Inspector, serving as the City’s Building Official, shall enforce all the provisions of the building code and ordinances throughout the City of Saline and shall act on any questions or problems relative to the mode or manner of construction and materials to be used in the erection, addition to, alteration, repair, removal, demolition, location, occupancy and maintenance of all buildings and structures. Examines construction documents and blueprints to ensure compliance to building codes and ordinances and initiates compliance actions when violations are found. Receives applications and issues permits for building and zoning compliance.

 

Code Compliance Officer (Part-Time Non-Exempt)

GENERAL SUMMARY

The City of Saline is accepting applications for a part-time Code Compliance Officer.  This position is under the supervision of the City Superintendent and performs a variety of tasks designed to assure, or gain compliance with, City ordinances focusing on property maintenance and other issues. This position also proactively checks compliance by responding to complaints, performing inspections, issuing violation notices, and maintaining related records. Three or more years of relevant experience preferred. $25 per hour and 25 hours per week with weekend hours required. Additionally, performs or assists in performing inspections and routine field and office duties related to issues such as zoning matters and other code and ordinance requirements. Also assists in enforcing handicapped parking regulations.

Lifeguard

Lifeguards are needed to guard the indoor pools at the Saline Rec Center. Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe aquatic environment during a variety of pool activities and will provide first aid/emergency care as needed. Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications are required. Must have own transportation. We offer very flexible scheduling and free fitness classes to all employees. Pay rate is $9.25-$10.50 depending on experience.

Swim Instructor

Swim instructors are needed at the Saline Rec Center. Swim instructors are responsible for teaching swimming lessons to a variety of ages and abilities. We offer lessons to children as young as 6 months with a parent to teens and adults. Extensive swimming knowledge and previous swim lesson experience is required. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification preferred but not required. Must have own transportation. We offer very flexible scheduling and free fitness classes to all employees. Pay rate is $10-12 depending on experience.


Building Supervisor

Building Supervisors are needed for the Saline Recreation Center. Building Supervisors are responsible for supervising the facility, patrons and staff. Responsible for building operations, pool operations, snow removal, and other duties as assigned.  Position requires frequent contact with employees and public with varying degrees of skill. Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills required. This is a part time position. Available shifts will include early morning, nights and weekend. Must have own transportation. We offer very flexible scheduling and free fitness classes to all employees.

Kids’ Corner

Child care providers are needed for the Saline Recreation Center. Child care staff will provide children ages 2 months through 9 years of age with a caring, safe, and fun environment in Kids Corner while their parents use the Rec Center.  Responsible for safety of children while in Kids Corner as well as providing fun activities for children. This is a part time position. Available shifts will include morning, nights and weekend. Must have own transportation. We offer very flexible scheduling and free fitness classes to all employees.
