SPRINGFEST

Saturday, April 15 at the Saline Rec Center

Egg Scavenger Hunt at 11:30 am: Bring a basket or bag to collect eggs scattered throughout the woods behind the Rec Center. The children will be divided into the following age groups: 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-10. A few lucky eggs will have a prize sticker. All participants will receive a goody bag. This event will take place outside rain, shine or snow. Event starts promptly at 11:30 am so don’t be late!

Lunch with the Bunny at 12 pm: Mr. Bunny himself will be making the rounds as you enjoy a pizza lunch. Bring your camera to take pictures with the Bunny. Location: Gym

Hippity Hop Trail 12-1 pm: Pick up treats and visit with local businesses along the Hippity Hop Trail inside the Rec Center. Those who sign up for the Egg Hunt, Lunch with the Bunny or Egg Dive will receive free admission for the Trail.

Egg Dive at 1 pm: Floating eggs will be scattered throughout the leisure pool for kids to collect. A few lucky eggs will have prize stickers inside. The children will be divided into the following age groups: 6-8 and 9-12. All participants will receive a goody bag. Participants are welcome to stay and swim after the event.

The Hippity Hop Trail is a wonderful way for local businesses and organizations to celebrate the season! We’ll provide you a table to display your information. Families will visit each booth along the trail. The cost to participate is just $20 plus 200 treats to hand out. Be one of the first 10 businesses to sign up & pay only $10!

Swim Lesson Summer Kick Off

Thursday, May 18 from 5-7:30 pm

Sign up for a FREE swim lesson. During the lesson our instructors will evaluate your child so you can register for the appropriate classes this summer. Every child will receive a goody pack. Pre-registration is required. No walk ins. NOTE: The leisure pool will be closed to the public but siblings who are also registered and are waiting for their time slot may swim. Children under 42 inches tall must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  • 6 months-5 years old with a parent: 6:20-6:50 pm
  • 3-6 year olds: 5-5:30pm & 7-7:30pm
  • 7-12 year olds: 5:40-6:10pm & 6:20-6:50pm

Muttstadon

Friday, June 2 at 6pm at Mill Pond Park Dog Park

Dogs, your owners have the Mastodon challenge event, you have the Muttstadon Dog Challenge! So come to this exciting evening of agility and games with other furry friends. Show off your skills and talents or just mingle with others. Mini Mastodon

Friday, June 16 at 2:30pm at Mill Pond Park

Celebrate the last day of school at the third annual Mini Mastodon event. Come prepared to climb over walls, jump over and crawl through objects, conquer our obstacle course and get soaked at the end. Thanks to Workout1 for working with Saline Parks & Rec on this event. Parents: don’t forget to bring a camera.

The Mastodon

Saturday, July 15 at Mill Pond Park

Presented by Saline Parks & Rec and Workout1

What do you get when you mix mud, water, muck and yuck? You get The Mastodon. The Mastodon is a boot camp style, fun and challenging obstacle course designed to push you to your limits!  It features various obstacles set up along a 3-mile course including hills, mud, woods, water & more! This year’s Mastodon will feature a race for the whole family in addition to the adult race!  Register online www.salinerec.com.

  • Adults 16+: $30 ($40 onsite day of)
  • Youth 9-15 yrs: $15 ($25 onsite day of)
  • Family 9+ yrs: $50 ($60 onsite day of)

Family Golf Scramble

Sunday, August 27 at 2:30pm at Brookside Golf Course

This Sunday afternoon golf outing is perfect for family, friends, neighbors and golfers of all levels. Enjoy a 9-hole scramble followed by a hot dog cookout in the on-site pavilion.  

  • $30 for a 2 person team (includes a cart)
  • $55 for a 4 person team (includes 2 carts)

Special: Golf an addition 9 holes after the scramble for $7 per person (includes a cart)!

The refund policy is listed in the Saline Rec Center Member Handbook.  Note: refund requests for special events must be submitted prior to the day of the event and are subject to an administrative fee.  Refunds will not be issued for those requests submitted the day of the event or after the event is held.
